bike farm!

Oh man. This new volunteer-based bike co-op, the Bike Farm, just opened up riiiight by my house! I'm kinda deliriously excited. It's located at 1303 NE Roselawn, which for some reason isn't mentioned on the website.

i was thinking about major life decisions the other day, and i realized that the two best decisions i've ever made were:

going vegetarian. this was what introduced me to the animal rights movement, which in turn lead me to the wider world of activism and radicalism. lovelovelove.

dropping out of school. this was an amazingly hard decision for me, but after wasting sixteen or so years in school, i came to realize that it would lead me no where but to being a nine-to-five consumerist/capitialist bore. no thanks.

let's talk about this someday soon. on LJ maybe, but also in person. <3

Daycare Punk House!

Alright, having woken up this morning at the god forsaken hour of 7:30, I tried to take a little nap around 10:30. It was going well, but then a bugger of an idea popped into my head: DAYCARE PUNK HOUSE!

The idea is pretty simple: a bunch of punks find a house, start a day care, and use the proceeds towards rent, freeing themselves from normal jobs. If you get enough people living in the house, the weekly work for each roomie would be minimal. With five folks, there could be one shift per roomie per week. Not bad.

I punched the numbers a bit, and I think we could get by with having about seven kids and charging families just $2.50 an hour.

If you're interested, let me know. I figure it would take us a few months to find some more roomies, find a house, and attract families.
